The Art of Craftsmanship

Made by hand, made to last

Every Zev piece is the work of skilled artisans, weeks of labour, and centuries of tradition — quietly stitched into a single garment.

"

In a world of fast fashion, we choose to go slow.

Because some things — like beauty, like heritage, like a story told in thread — simply cannot be rushed.

Our Process

From thread to treasure

01

The design

It begins with a feeling — a memory of Kashmir, a colour, an old pattern. Our designs are sketched by hand, refined over weeks, and finalised only when every detail feels right.

02

The fabric

We source premium cottons, fine lawns, and soft wool blends from trusted mills. Every metre is inspected by hand before it ever reaches our artisans.

03

The embroidery

This is where time slows. Each motif is hand-embroidered by master karigars — some pieces taking weeks, even months, to complete. Every stitch carries skill passed down through generations.

04

The finish

Once embroidered, each piece is gently washed, pressed, inspected, and hand-packed in our signature wrapping — ready to begin its new life with you.

A Heritage in Every Stitch

The soul of Kashmir

For centuries, the valleys of Kashmir have been home to some of the world's most extraordinary embroidery traditions — aari, tilla, sozni, and the timeless paisley.

At Zev, we honour these crafts the only way we know how — by working alongside the artisans who carry them, by giving each piece the time it deserves, and by refusing to let machines replace what hands have done so beautifully for generations.

Our Techniques

The art forms we cherish

Aari Embroidery

Worked with a fine hooked needle, aari creates delicate chain stitches that flow like poetry across fabric.

Sozni Work

Among the finest needlework in the world — sozni is so intricate that some pieces can take artisans months to complete.

The Paisley

A symbol of Kashmir for over 300 years — the timeless paisley motif appears throughout our embroidery, in shawls and kurtas alike.

Tilla Work

Metallic gold and silver thread embroidery — once reserved for royalty, now woven into our most exquisite pieces.

Hand Block

Traditional wooden blocks, carved by hand and stamped with care, give each printed piece its unique, irregular charm.

Local Artisans

Every piece is made in small ateliers across Pakistan — supporting families and keeping traditional craft alive in their homes.
